Work on Lynetteholm is well underway and on schedule. More than half of the stone work in phase 2 has now been completed, which corresponds to approximately 5.2 kilometres out of a total of 8.6 kilometres of stone dam. Phase 1 was completed last year and is now being filled with soil from construction sites in Copenhagen and the surrounding area.
The project also focuses on recycling and sustainability. For example, stones from the historic breakwaters at Trekroner are being reused as part of the new dams, and the aquatic environment is continuously monitored by the consulting firm DHI.
Another important point is safety on the water. Unfortunately, several sailors have sailed into the work area, which is associated with great danger. The area is closed to navigation and can be viewed on the free digital nautical chart Skippo.
