New power cables to transport Lolland's green electricity

Energinet is strengthening the electricity grid on Lolland to be able to transport the increasing amount of green electricity from new solar and wind turbine facilities. The project includes the establishment of approximately 30 km of 132 kV underground cables and the construction of three new high-voltage substations in Gloslunde, Rødby, and Femern.

The expansion is taking place in connection with the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link and is intended to ensure a robust and future-proof electricity grid that can support the green transition and future energy needs.

Work on the stations commenced in 2023, while the cabling is scheduled to start in 2025. The project is expected to be operational in 2026.
