We have received an enquiry from a PhD student at the University of Vienna who is working on a research project about how large infrastructure projects are experienced by the people and local communities they affect.
As part of the research, the Fehmarn Belt Fixed Link is being examined as a case, along with the Brenner Base Tunnel between Austria and Italy. The aim is to create a better understanding of the perceptions, expectations, concerns, and experiences that citizens and stakeholders have in relation to large infrastructure projects.
The study does not aim to evaluate the project itself, but rather to shed light on the different perspectives and experiences related to it.
The research project is based on more than 80 qualitative interviews conducted on both Lolland and Fehmarn. Based on these interviews, a questionnaire has been developed, which will contribute to creating a broader and more nuanced data foundation.
The questionnaire takes approximately 12 minutes to complete.
All responses will be treated anonymously and used solely for research purposes. As part of the project, the researcher will also donate 2 euros for each completed response to a charitable cause, which the individual participant chooses at the end of the questionnaire.
