The second tunnel element for the Fehmarn Belt tunnel has now been safely lowered into place on the seabed. This establishes the first 500 metres of the forthcoming 18-kilometre-long connection. The joining of the first two elements marks another important milestone in the project, which continues to be closely followed by both the industry and the public.
